Winning the Lottery

Was fairly normal day, filled with the mundane. However the sun gleamed and sparkled with promise. I left the house allowing the warmth of the glowing orb embrace me as I scampered to my job interview. My interviewer seemed impressed, we shall see if it bears fruit.

Then I met with my good friend, Ali for her birthday sushi. Lord how I love the tantalizing flavors of nigiri. Unagi, seared salmon, peppered tuna, ahi, and the flavors never end. But the serenity and goodness that surrounds my time with Ali far exceed the flavors of the sushi bar.  You see, Ali is a person that exudes happiness, she brings love, patience, acceptance, and understanding more than anyone I know. She is a treasure as a friend. And let me tell you, having a partner in parenting bipolar children is priceless. She freely gives all that she can to help a person in need and I am very grateful for her. P.S She is also my  boudoir photographer. =0) (Ali Lovejoy Photography)

After an enlightening lunch I returned home to my domestic duties. As stated previously, MUNDANE! Tidying up, vacuumed, cat boxes, dinner in the make.

After a busy day at work my handsome walked in, his smile melted my heart and kiss numbed my brain!
This man is my heart. My best friend, my lover, my soul, MY PARTNER!
TWITTER-PATED

As dinner finished cooking we snuggled and watched a movie. There is no better place than by his side.
The night grew dim, and the time came to prepare for our repose, however Ryan had to take the movies back. As he collected them from the coffee table I tossed him $20 and said, "Grab a couple lottery tickets!" Out the door he went, and I finished the kitchen. While wiping the counters my phone rang, " Honey, I'm so sorry, the machine doesn't give back change! I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to use the whole $20!" "No Biggie, handsome...don't worry about it. It's only $20, I think we can afford it." I hang up, giggling to myself at how cute he was, worrying about using $20. My sweet man. Upon his return to the house he's still apologizing profusely as he walks through the door. I again chastise him for being silly, it's only $20.
$14 in megabucks, $3 Boomtown, $2 Lucky 7's and unknown $1.  Boomtown is where Ryan and his step-dad would stop on the way home from working in Reno, NV and I was born 7/27/72, so 7's was for me, and the other was to spend the last $. Again, he apologized for having to spend the whole $20.
I scratched, not expecting anything, however Ryan never gambles and he scratched his ticket with the fervor of a child running after the ice cream truck. Biting his bottom lip, the nervous flicker of his tongue across his lip...scratch....scratch...scratch....the gray stuff flies. Ryan's eyes get huge, he says, " Honey, you don't have to worry about that $20, I think I just won $30, 000.00!!!" Of course I was the skeptic and looked back and forth from the front of the ticket to the back reading all the directions. He begins to jump up and down, yelling, we just won $30, 000!! I said, "Stop, now we need to be smart!" To which he replied,

"You just won $30, 000!" Those who know us, know why.

Again, I said, well, we haven't won until we get to Salem and they hand us a check.
The night was a blur, couldn't sleep. Ryan was able to get off early and off to Salem we went. We parked in the winners parking. Walked through the doors half expecting the the musical horns to sound as we entered the hallowed lobby. Paperwork, security and then the check!

$20, 100.75 after taxes.

Then we were put in the prop room to take our photos.

All in all, after the evil of the last year Ryan was stuck with all the debt and a big attorney bill.
The $ will pay all debt, buy him a TV , tune up vehicles and get our dental work caught up.
Unfortunately no big trips, however the good Lord saw that we needed a fresh start and has given it to us.
We are grateful for the many blessing we have been given and thankful to have found an amazing love.
