Stephanie D. Gates: Tigard, OR, United States; "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH". My life has been spent taking care of others, some of it detrimental to my own well being. I quit smoking 7 years ago in March. My "quitting smoking journey" amplified my oral fixation and I was like a toddler, everything went in my mouth. To the “ton-age" of about 100 lbs. I was ok with that at the time as I had to eliminate smoking from my life. My cardiovascular endurance is another process I’d like to enhance. Why am I televising my weight loss on this show and subsequent blog? Because I cannot do it alone.I need more support-I need someone to hold me accountable. Because If I go back to being Stephanie that hid behind the fat-was too self-conscious to attempt anything new-hated what she saw everyday in the mirror-and hated the emotional turmoil it created- I will slowly shrivel up and disappear. I want to be that vivacious-creative-“Hold my drink and watch this…” kind of Stephanie that I was so many years ago. I have found her; she just needs to break free from the bonds of adipose. Thank you for your interest in my journey. I am gracious you took the time-and hope that others out there will realize that they too can break free.
